| TNT Speaker's Forum: What Constitutes a Man? |
| TNT MEN is a men's nudist group, but what constitutes a man? Science has
proven that there is a lot more than just males (XX) and females (XY), such
as XXY and XYY. Once a female has a sex change, is he a male and allowed
to be a member of TNT MEN, or if he still intrinsically female? If someone
identifies as male, what body parts do we expect or accept? Not all men
have testicles, and many men have large breasts, so is someone who has male
genitals but female breasts allowed to join the group? What about someone
who identifies as male but hasn't had sex-reallocation surgery? How inclusive
is TNT MEN to all men? We are fortunate to have J Wallace, a person well versed in these issues to come and discuss them with the group on June 8, at 8 p.m. (please arrive early). The location is at the Maples (20 Carleton, beside the Carleton Cinema), in the party room (check the lobby directory, then press B1 in the elevator). This is sure to be a provacative forum, which will make us rethink what we mean by "men." A Naturalist's Guide to Trans Issues In Their Natural Habitat: An introduction to trans issues, transsexuality and transgender identities for non-trans folk. An accessible and entertaining exploration of trans issues. This will include:
Participants will be encouraged to ask any questions they may have. J Wallace is a transsexual writer, activist and trouble maker. He enjoys nudity and has been known to canoe naked, but will likey be dressed for this workshop. In the Party Room of The Maples (20 Carleton Street: beside the Carleton Cinema). | TNT Book Club |
| The TNT book club meets on the second Thursday of the month in the Bloor
West Village. Don't worry if you haven't read the book; the main focus of
the evening is social. The group chooses a new book every month; they've
mostly been gay fiction so far, but that may change. Typically between 5
and 10 men attend. A great way to spend a naked evening.
TNT members $4, others welcome $6. Contact Clifford at for instructions and location. The book for June is "The Notorious Dr August : His
Life and Crimes" Spanning
more than sixty years from the Civil War to the early 1920s, The Notorious
Dr. August features Augustus Fitzwilliam Boyd, alias Dr. August, an improvisational
pianist who believes his music is sometimes inspired by the spirit world.
He
is in love with Isaac Kemp, an ex-slave who only sporadically returns
his affections and who himself successfully woos Alice Pangborn, a rather
prim white governess. The three, locked in a strange and often painful
love triangle, travel the world—until a horrible tragedy forces
them all to examine the choices they have made and shakes up their relationships
in ways none of them could have predicted. |

| World Naked Bike Ride: Toronto | ||
We face automobile traffic with out naked bodies as the best way to defend our dignity and expose the dangers faced by cyclists and pedestrians, including the many negative consequences we all face due to our dependence on oil and other forms of non-renewable energy. We had a great time last year. This year the decisions for the Toronto ride still haven't been settled, but I expect it should be a lot of fun again. For more info, visit:
Details are being voted on right now; join in and
help make this even better than last year! |

| Naked Night at the Black Eagle |
CANCELLED AT THE LAST MOMENT BECAUSE THE OWNER GOT SPOOKED, no doubt fearing unfair treatment from the Toronto police, who think that leaving your beer by the sink in the washroom while you pee is major crime. The staff promised me the naked nights will resume in July. On the third Thursday of every month, starting at 10pm, the Black Eagle offers free clothing-check (on the second floor) to everyone who gets naked. There is no cover-charge; admission is free. These are clothing-optional events, so there will be some men fully dressed, but you can bet a lot of them will be willing to get at least partially naked if you give them some encouragement, or maybe a little beer... Black Eagle, 457 Church St, south of Maitland. |

TNT!MEN invites our nudist friends from out of town and around the world to join us for a chance to meet and greet before the Pride dance and parade on the weekend. The hospitality suite will include an exhibition by our group photographer, Masao Abe, who will be on hand to answer questions and to take photos of anyone who is willing to pose naked for his camera. The cost is $5.00 for all, to cover food and refreshments. Following the event, you are invited to stay for nude Ashtanga yoga, free, but bring a towel or mat to work on, a towel to dry yourself, and a bottle of water. In the Party Room (floor B1) of The Maples (20 Carleton St, beside the Carleton Cinema). Check the lobby directory for the buzz code. |

| Jim's Reception and Mini-Magic Show |
Jim, the famous Naked Magician and founder of Penis Central, is visiting Toronto for Pride, and will be hosting an informal naked party in his hotel suite in the village. It's BYOB, and at some point in the evening Jim will give us a brief nude magic show (nothing up his sleeve -- or his anything else!). For more information, write to to ask if you can come. Free admission to all. The exact location (including room number) will be posted on his website the day before the party. |
| 10pm-3am |
| Vazaleen Clothing-Optional Dance |
| Hosted by the fabulous DJ and artist Will Munro, these monthly glam-queer rock 'n' roll dance parties have
become a Toronto institution. Drawing an incredibly mixed crowd,
Vazaleen has always welcomed nudists (and bears and metalheads and queer-loving
punks).
There are usually only a two or three men willing to strip, most of them TNT!MEN members, so if you've got an exhibitionistic streak, this is the place for you! It can be really packed, but you'll usually find the naked people on the dance floor near the stage. You've got to cover up in order to use the washrooms (keep your undies in your sock), but otherwise, shoes are all you need. These events take place on the last Friday of each month, and feature entertainment, performances, contests, and hundreds of queers. Cover is $7. Lee's Palace, 529 Bloor St. West, just east of Bathurst. 416-532-1598 www.willmunro.ca |

| Get Naked at Gay Pride Day |
| Nudists from around the world will be converging on Toronto for the 2005
Gay Pride celebrations. In September 2002, the Crown Prosecutor declared
that nudity at Pride Day is legal, and
the resulting story was translated into
dozens of languages and circled the globe. In 2003 the police publicly said
they have no problem with nudity at Pride, and for the most part ignored
us all day. In 2004, many men were naked during most of the day, and the
police had no problem with it at all. So do plan to come get naked and march
with us in the parade. Just remember to wear your shoes!
Toronto puts on one of the biggest Pride celebrations in the world. Nearly a million people came to last year's Pride Parade, and this year will be even bigger! There's a full week of events. For the official schedule, check out the official Pride Toronto web site. Come march with us in the parade, and join us at our fun-filled booth! We're looking for volunteers to help us set up and take down the booth, and for people to chat with the thousands who will stop and visit with us during the day. It really is a wonderful way to spend a day, so please do come out and join us. Want to help out or join us in the march? Just show up and join us; we welcome everyone! We'll leave from our booth on Wellesley St. at around 1:30pm to head up to the parade staging area. The parade starts at 2pm this year. Nearly-naked costumes provided! TNT PRIDE VOLUNTEERS Set-up: Meet us at 10am on Wellesley St. East, just west of Church
St. For more info, and to volunteer, write to us at but be sure to write early, because we'll be very busy around then, and won't have time to answer last-minute e-mails! |

| Naked on the Beach at Hanlan's Point |
Come share our fabulous nude beach with the men who made it happen! We've got nothing special planned, but look for the other TNT!MEN there. There are typically hundreds of people there on sunny weekends throughout the summer, and while it is a bit quieter during the week, it's still a great place to visit. Bring food, water and lots of sun-screen! The ferry to Hanlan's Point costs $5 for the trip out; the ferry ride home is free. There is a concession stand selling soft drinks and snacks near the beach; see the map on the Directions page. There are showers there too, but they are small and not very clean. |

| TNT Naked Yoga |
| Yoga! Come enjoy this nude guided Yoga class, which combines exercise,
focusing and relaxation. All you will need is a willingness to relax, a
yoga mat (towel, or padded mat, or light sleeping bag) to be able to claim
your own space on the floor, and a follow-the-leader attitude. Classes are every second Thursday. Doors open at 7 p.m., and classes start at 7:30pm sharp. No-one will be admitted after 7:30. Bring water, and a towel to wipe off the sweat, because you will sweat. You will also need a yoga mat (towel, or padded mat, or light sleeping bag). The cost is $30 for 6 classes, or $10 for a single class. You can take the classes at any time, and we will keep track of how many you've got left. These yoga classes are very popular because it is a great form of exercise and relaxation, and because the instructor, Mike, instructs a class consisting of absolute beginners and advanced students with equal skill. If you have never tried yoga before, this is a great opportunity; if you have done yoga, then this is a great opportunity to do it naked. But join before the class fills up; limited space is available. All classes are in the Party Room of The Maples (20 Carleton Street: beside the Carleton Cinema). For more info, write |
